The Centre for Liberal Modernity (LibMod), the Centre for Eastern Studies (OSW) and the Foundation for German-Polish Cooperation are pleased to invite you to the public discussion “Poland and Germany: Goals and Policies towards Russia and Ukraine. What next?” that will take place on 20 November 2023, at 19:00 CET in Warsaw.

After nearly two years of Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine we face the prospect of prolonged fighting as the Putin regime demonstrates resilience to political and economic shocks. The military escalation in the Middle East and other challenges raise questions about the international order in coming years. How can we defend the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine and permanently reduce Russia’s destructive potential? How can we prevent the expansion of authoritarian tendencies in Europe? We will try to answer these and other questions and formulate policy recommendations.
