At the centre of his work were green eco\u00adnom\u00adics and eco\u00adlog\u00adi\u00adcal inno\u00adva\u00adtion, migra\u00adtion, the future of Europe and inter\u00adna\u00adtional pol\u00adi\u00adtics. Before that he was co-chair of the German Green Party (1989\/\u200b\u200b90) and Senator of Envi\u00adron\u00adment and City Devel\u00adop\u00adment in Bremen.<\/p>\n

F\u00fccks is con\u00adsid\u00adered a pioneer thinker, seeking cross-party dis\u00adcourse. He is an advo\u00adcate for liberal ecology pol\u00adi\u00adtics, focusing on inno\u00adva\u00adtion rather than pro\u00adhi\u00adbi\u00adtion. Of special impor\u00adtance to him is a dia\u00adlogue with the business community, which he con\u00adsid\u00aders an invalu\u00adable actor of a \u201cgreen indus\u00adtrial revolution\u201d.<\/p>\n

F\u00fccks is a regular contributor to national and inter\u00adna\u00adtional media and co-author to numerous books. In 1991, he was editor of the book \u201cSind die Gr\u00fcnen noch zu retten?\u201d (Is There a Future for the Green Party?). In 2013 his book \u201cIntel\u00adligent Wachsen \u2013 Die gr\u00fcne Revolution\u201d (Smart Growth \u2013 The Green Revolution) was published in German, followed by English, Polish and Russian editions. His second book, \u201cFreiheit vertei\u00addigen \u2013 wie wir den Kampf um die offene Gesellschaft gewinnen\u201d (Defending Freedom \u2013 How We Can Win The Fight For An Open Society) is dealing with the challenge liberal democracy is facing at home and globally. In September 2019, the anthology \u201cSoziale Marktwirtschaft \u00f6kolo\u00adgisch erneuern\u201c (\u201cGreening the Social Market Economy\u201d) was published by F\u00fccks together with Thomas K\u00f6hler at the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung.<\/p>\n
