Mission<\/h1>\n

Liberal democracy faces growing challenges across the globe. In this time of funda\u00admental change, we need an honest and trans\u00adparent debate about the future of our society and the global order. To this end, we at LibMod<\/p>\n

  • contribute to the defence of open societies and to the renewal of liberal democracy.<\/li>\n
  • focus on the inter\u00adsection of climate change mitigation, a modern economy and liberal democracy.<\/li>\n
  • promote foreign and security policies that are both realistic and respect human rights.<\/li>\n
  • strive to advance democracy and EU integration in the countries of Eastern Europe.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    We believe that individual freedoms and social respon\u00adsi\u00adbility, self-deter\u00admi\u00adnation and strong public insti\u00adtu\u00adtions form a symbiotic relationship. We strongly advocate for liberal democracy as the best guarantee for the protection of human rights and dignity. We are committed to environ\u00admental progress and a liberal climate policy. We do not confuse a love for peace with defencelessness.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

    • We host confer\u00adences, expert talks and forums, ranging from inter\u00adna\u00adtional events to informal discussions.<\/li>\n
    • We bring together individuals from politics, academia, business and civil society.<\/li>\n
    • We facil\u00aditate sound policy discus\u00adsions and political education.<\/li>\n
    • Our websites, first and foremost libmod.de, serve as platforms for debates.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

      Legal form and financing<\/h1>\n

      LibMod is a non-profit limited liability company (gGmbH), which is legally barred from making profits and is obliged to use all fund alloca\u00adtions for charity purposes as per our statutes.<\/p>\n

      Our financing is derived from project funds from public in- stitu\u00adtions, private founda\u00adtions, and associ\u00ada\u00adtions as well as donations. Moreover, we receive insti\u00adtu\u00adtional funding from the federal budget like other think tanks and educa\u00adtional insti\u00adtu\u00adtions. The use of our funds undergoes regular auditsby both our donors, the Federal Audit Court (Bundesrech\u00adnungshof) and the financial administration.<\/p>\n
