\u201cAre we doing enough for Ukraine to win?\u201d was the question addressed by the panel with Justyna Gotkowska, Christian M\u00f6lling, Maryna Vorotniuk, Alex Vidman and Nico Lange. The partic\u00adi\u00adpants agreed that the West\u2019s support is not enough and discussed what needs to be done specif\u00adi\u00adcally to support Ukraine.<\/h3>\n

\u201cMany Western govern\u00adments are more concerned with managing the war\u201d (Justyna Gotkowska)<\/h2>\n

It first became clear that it is necessary to produce more weapons and ammunition. Christian M\u00f6lling, Deputy Director of the DGAP Research Institute, pointed out that the defence industry receives no financial incen\u00adtives and works \u201cin peace mode\u201d. According to Justyna Gotkowska, Deputy Director of the OSW Centre for Eastern Studies, a victory for Ukraine would mean \u201cregaining the territory of Ukraine and setting limits to the expansion of Russian imperi\u00adalism.\u201d Ukraine should also join the EU and NATO. This would guarantee long-term security for Europe. However, many Western govern\u00adments still do not have a clear goal in mind and are more concerned with \u201cmanaging the war\u201d, which leads to insuf\u00adfi\u00adcient support for Ukraine.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is only one way to win the war\u201d (Alex Vindman)<\/h2>\n

According to Maryna Vorotniuk, Associate Fellow at the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI), a victory for Ukraine would also mean \u201cinflicting a strategic defeat on Russia\u201d. She called on people to think about what would happen if Ukraine collapsed rather than worrying about Russia\u2019s possible defeat. Former U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel Alex Vindman noted in this context that there are many ways to lose the war (for Ukraine), but only one way to win it \u2014 and the military resources of the West are essential for this.[\/vc_column_text]<\/p>
