Rainald Manthe
Programme Director Liberale Demokratie
Rainald Manthe (Dr. phil.) is a sociologist and Programme Director for Liberal Democracy at the Centre for Liberal Modernity. He did his doctorate at the University of Lucerne on the transnational large-scale meetings of social movements. At LibMod he is responsible for the project areas “Security in Transition” and “Rethinking Liberalism”. He is co-author of the study “Das Bildungsgrundeinkommen. Vorschlag für eine neue Weiterbildungsfinanzierung.” and co-editor of the anthology “Liberalismus neu denken” (with Ralf Fücks, June 2022). He regularly publishes on issues of democracy development.
Previously, he worked at the Youth Press Germany and freelanced in political education, e.g. for the Friedrich Ebert Foundation and trade unions. On a voluntary basis, he supports the Board of Trustees of the Education Foundation.
