Catherine Belton

Catherine Belton, MBE, is a London-based Russia reporter for The Washington Post. She worked from 2007 to 2013 as a Moscow correspondent for the Financial Times, and in 2016 as the newspaper’s legal correspondent. She previously reported from Russia for The Moscow Times and BusinessWeek and served as an investigative correspondent for Reuters. In 2009, she was short-listed for the British Press Awards’ Business and Finance Journalist of the Year prize. In 2020, she published her investigative book “Putin’s People”, which was praised as a milestone investigation into theKremlin’s influence on the West and triggered high-profile libel lawsuits from Kremlin-connected businessmen.
