Support Without Effect? Economic factors constraining the success of RES support auctions in Ukraine
The Center for liberal Modernity cordially invites you to the online presentation of the Policy Paper „Support Without Effect? Economic factors constraining the success of RES support auctions in Ukraine“ on November 17 at 11:00 CET (12:00 Kyiv time).
The shift from the feed-in tariff to RES auctions was intended to reduce the cost of renewable energy support and improve its market integration. However, the launch of the auctions was delayed by the debt crisis, macroeconomic difficulties and wartime risks. The first auctions in 2024–2025 proved largely ineffective – most lots attracted no successful bids.
During the presentation, we will discuss what changes in the feed-in premium and contract for difference mechanisms‘ calculation methodology are needed to stimulate investment in new RES capacity, which is necessary for the recovery and development of Ukraine’s energy system.
